Finding Beauty in the Process, Not Just the Outcome
We love a good before-and-after story, don’t we?
The glow-up. The business launch. The six-figure testimony. The perfectly curated Instagram square that tells the world, “I made it.”
But can I gently ask — what about the middle part?
The before the breakthrough, during the doubt, in the waiting, in the wrestling, in the still-not-sure-how-this-will-work kind of season?
Because here's the truth I’m learning:
The beauty isn't just in the final result. It's in the process. The slow, quiet, unseen process where God does His most transformational work.
And friend, if you’re walking through that right now — still building, still becoming, still hoping — I want to remind you: You're not behind. You’re becoming.
Why We're So Outcome-Focused
We’re surrounded by results-driven messaging.
Success looks like “arrived,” “booked out,” “sold out,” “launched,” “grew by X%,” “hit 10K followers.”
It’s no wonder we start to believe that we’re only worthy, only valuable, only enough when we’ve crossed the finish line.
But this mentality steals something sacred: the wonder of the in-between.
The place where faith grows roots.
Where perseverance is born.
Where God draws close — not because we’ve figured it all out, but because we’ve finally slowed down enough to hear His whisper.
“Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.” – James 1:2-3
The Process is Where God Meets Us
Let’s not forget:
Moses wandered for 40 years before the Israelites reached the Promised Land.
Joseph was betrayed, enslaved, and imprisoned before stepping into purpose.
David was anointed long before he ever stepped foot in the palace.
Even Jesus spent 30 quiet years before His ministry began.
God isn’t in a rush.
And He’s not asking you to be either.
Sometimes the process feels like delay or disappointment. But in God’s hands, it’s development.
He’s forming you for what He’s already prepared.
5 Ways to Find Beauty in the Process
If you’re someone who sets goals, dreams big, and wants to make an impact — I see you. But I also want to invite you to lean into the gift of right now.
Here’s how I’m learning to embrace the process:
1. Celebrate Tiny Wins Like They Matter (Because They Do)
Maybe you didn’t book five clients, but you showed up consistently.
Maybe the funnel isn’t live yet, but you finally wrote the email.
Maybe you're not “there” yet — but you’re a lot further than where you started.
We often overlook the progress God is making in us because we’re too focused on the results we want from us.
2. Document the Journey
Start a progress journal. Write down your prayers, what you're learning, where you’re growing, even what’s hard. One day, you’ll look back and see God’s fingerprints all over your path.
3. Let Go of the Timeline You Created
Just because it’s taking longer than you expected doesn’t mean it’s not working.
Let go of the belief that fast is always better. Let go of comparison. God’s timing is holy and precise — even when it feels slow.
“He has made everything beautiful in its time.” – Ecclesiastes 3:11
4. Invite God into the Process Daily
Ask Him, “What do You want to teach me today?”
Not just, “When will You bring the breakthrough?”
Let your business be a space of worship. Let your efforts become a conversation. You don’t need to compartmentalize your faith and your work — they were always meant to go together.
5. Don’t Wait to Feel ‘Enough’ to Enjoy the Journey
The enemy would love for you to believe that you’re not ready, not capable, not worthy — until you hit some arbitrary milestone.
But friend, you’re already equipped. You’re already called. You’re already chosen.
God’s not just after your results.
He’s after your heart.
And He’s walking every step of this process with you.
You’re Not Just Building a Business — You’re Being Built
Let that sink in.
This journey — with all its twists, setbacks, slow seasons, and breakthroughs — is doing something in you. And that might just be the most beautiful thing of all.
You’re becoming the kind of woman who trusts deeply, leads authentically, and shows up even when it’s hard.
You’re becoming someone who reflects the faithfulness of God — not just when the launch goes well, but when the process feels unseen.
So wherever you are today — in the middle of a pivot, a project, a pause, or a prayer — take heart.
The process is holy ground.
You are not behind.
You are not forgotten.
You are being prepared.
And beauty?
It’s already blooming.
